Our area is located in Idaho’s Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness.

Hunting bears in Idaho's wilderness is an experience like no other, offering both challenge and reward. At Bitterroot Outfitters, we pride ourselves on delivering guided bear hunts that are meticulously planned and expertly led, prioritizing safety, skill, and ethical hunting practices. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be immersed in the pristine beauty of Idaho’s vast forests and mountains, all while having the best chance at encountering these incredible animals. Whether you're a seasoned hunter or new to bear hunting, our team is committed to making your adventure one for the books.

We offer bear spot and stock and hunting over bait. Our hunting areas are in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness in units 17, 20, and 20A. The bears are abundant in Idaho! Color phases are brown, black, blonde, and cinnamon. The bear population is high, increasing your chance of getting a trophy-sized bear. During the day, we glass hillsides and tend the baits. In the early evening, we will place you over one of the baits in the area. Camp is very comfortable offering three tents: a kitchen tent, sleep tent, and a lounge and shower tent. Most bear hunts are done from our base camp at Kim Creek. We are in a joint party agreement with River of No Return Lodge to provide lodging services during our earlier spring bear hunts. Clients must make separate payments for services provided by the lodge.

Bear tags are guaranteed. Your guides are responsible for packing out game that you harvest, especially during warm weather. Wilderness hunts are extremely physical, and we will hunt you to the best of your ability.
